S1 also allows you to save a song file as a template. I use that for multi-drum out, instrument setups, audio tracks pre-named and ready to go.
It's very fast and easy to use.

Yup here we go again, the different ways things are done get pointed out yet another thread.

I can say that the old Sonar still fits the bill for me but on the other hand I have been using Studio One since 2011, I can say I am up to speed on what it's capabilities are and I have say a lot of what is being passed off against is in fact ignorance of how to accomplish what the complainant is trying too do.

I see others pop in with the solution but minds are pretty much made up by a bad experience so they move on. The only reason after all the years of using Studio One that I prefer Sonar is that, I prefer Sonar not because Studio One is lacking. In my own experience it is more stable, quicker, responsive and whatever buzz word one can think of than any version of Sonar up too and maybe above version 8.5.3.

In my veiw the preference should be what works not what it can or should be without digging a lot more than some who post otherwise.

Another thing in studio one that works kind of like track templates is presets for drums can be saved with routing info.  Drag an Impact preset into arrange view and multiple outputs are created

Yes I've made several presets of Superior Drummer 3 in SO3 already in folders even. And yes I voted for SO3.

The same things can be done in pretty much any DAW. It's not exactly a feature or replacement for track templates.

Voted, for Mixcraft.

I voted for Samplitude.
I have been watching Mixcraft video's and reminds me of Project5 with the Live Performance Panel.
Also like that you can layer multiple instruments on one track.
Good chance I'll pickup crossgrade offer after Christmas.

I purchased a new DAW, Digital Performer, and I'll be spending time with it, but I won't be switching to it just yet.

Voted for Cubase. Very hard decision to make with no funds at the moment to get 2 or 3 DAWS but very tempting.
Samplitude and Studio One were also on my shortlist in that order.

I switched completely to REAPER a couple of years ago after having used Cakewalk/Pro Audio/SONAR since the early DOS days (in other words, decades!) I haven't regretted it for a minute & haven't looked back.
