  • Transient and Transient Marker Become Disassociated

Hi all,

Has this happened to anyone before? I was playing with transient markers, moving them back and forth and undoing marker moves, then suddenly the marker and the audio transient were no longer aligned.

In the graphic below, there are two stereo pairs. The top one is the original and unedited. The bottom pair is that track cloned to play with. So you can compare the transients of the original verses the cloned track. The transient marker at the start of the red region aligns with the unedited track, but as you can see, the actual transient in the red region is late by many ticks.

At first I thought "Well, I must have done that while moving the marker around, also with Undo and Redo" but then it seemed to me that a transient marker should never disassociate from the transient it belongs to, yes?

No biggie, as I was working on a scratch clone, but I would like to understand it.

Thanks,
Chris

Transient Markers can be moved independently of the audio to correct mis-placement. This is done by dragging the marker by its center which changes to a diamond shaped 'head' when you hover over it. Undo will revert the move if done before other edits are made. Otherwise you can right-click the marker and choose Reset.

Thanks, that's probably how it happened.

Cheers,
Chris
