I came across some free Synth 1 sounds from BigTone:
https://rekkerd.org/patches/sound-designer/bigtone/

They are good. With the librarian you will have to zip these up of course. Otherwise they can be put into a folder and you just need to point Synth 1 to that folder.

There are another 22 banks here:
https://rekkerd.org/patches/plug-in/synth1/

We may have some of these already not sure but might be worth checking. Update: Some of these are real nice!

I compared that BigTone file with the one I already have from the large download, and the patches have the same names, so I assume it is a dupe.  Except for one thing, that patch #128 is missing from the rekkerd version.

I really like BigTone.  Have the Analog Basics expansion that he did for SynthMaster 2.  Also very nice!  In most of those patches he makes very effective use of some combination of the mod wheel, pitch bend, aftertouch, and velocity. Makes them very playable and expressive.

He usually makes notes in his patch names of those additional modulation controls, and there a quite a few in the Synth1 bank as well.  Look out for the ones that have MW + PB.  They can have some unusual morphing effects in the sound!

I still have to check out those other banks...

OK, here is what I was able to match up with the big zip bank.  From that 2nd list at rekkerd od 22 banks, these are duplicates:

BigTone Synth1
Dubstep and DnB
Synth1: Xenos Signature
Luck's Rainbow
Teksonik 2008 Edit
Synth1 Presets by Lunatique
Synth1 Ouroboros Bank3
TC-Synth1

The rest seem to be fresh.  The batch by Lloyd McKay are very interesting, as well as are many others here!

Great find!

Wow!  I just noticed that I now have 16,183 patches in the Synth1 Librarian.  Time to go find me a desert island for a few years, LOL...

Thanks abacab for weeding out the duplicate banks.  Much appreciated.  I removed them and just added the remaining ones in.  And yes there are some real nice sounds in there for sure.

I was just fiddling around with Synthmaster (another very nice synth too) and some some BigTone patches when I stumbled on those Synth 1 banks by accident.

I think it may be time for some 'BigTone' schooling.  May just have to try and reverse engineer a few of his patches.  When he assigns the PB wheel to something besides pitch bend, it's just nuts!

One way to do that would be to create the signal flow block diagram of Synth 1.  Something I might be prepared to do.  With all the variable controls indicated.  It is based around the Clavia Nord Lead 2 Red synth so that might be a great starting point.

That way you can study a patch that you find interesting and you will be able to get a handle on how he is programming this signal flow.  I have already downloaded the Nord Lead 2 manual and between that and the Synth 1 signal flow I should be able to generate the block diagram.  I might just need a little time.

From the Nord Lead 2 manual:

Actually, how to change a programmed sound can be described in one sentence: “twist the knobs and
press the buttons”. It is as simple as that!

LOL!

Found an old discussion on KVR, and it was suggested by one forum user that this was a simplified signal flow for Synth1:  https://www.kvraudio.com/...iewtopic.php?t=263700#

Note: this is missing a lot of stuff. I'm just putting the basic components.
The first two EGs have fixed outputs while the third and the two LFOs are demultiplexed to one of many possible destinations.

'Synth1 Ver1.13 Manual' is here.  Contains a basic structure diagram, and a description of the parameters.
