I gave up with v-vocal... it just would crash my system...

They should have thought the vst's through before this release...  have a spring clean and start afresh..

I can't activate Platinum!    I go to the Command Center.  Click Activate and all I get is infor on how to do it offline. That's ZERO help! I can't register Platinum!  I get the message that it is already registered!
Can someone offer help???  At best, the activation process (or registration  ...  or whatever it is supposed to be called)  is really really really poor!

Fear not, check your CW store account to confirm that SONAR as been activated and registered (3C makes this an "invisible" and seamless process).  Also, if SONAR has not been registered you will be prompted with a toast message indicating that SONAR is running in demo mode.

Kind regards,

Just to further what LRR said, Command Center automatically registers/activates Sonar during the install phase.  If you installed it using Command Center, you are already registered, activated and ready to go.

If you're offline, the Activation has to be done manually.  The Activate button, as you  found out, tells you how to do it.
If you're ONline, no need to do anything at all. It's already been done for you by CCC.  Activation, serial numbers, registration, all done.  It is really really really easy.  You don't have to do anything.

I kind of thought that was the case but  for some reason unbeknownst to me, my product, installed using the Command Center, remains in the Demo state making it useless and a waste of money! It may have something to do with that point in time when the Single Sign On foisted itself on unsuspecting users like me.  I was made persona non grata  ... not able to post etc ... until the Cakewalks guys reset my password and  as I recall, my user name ).

As far as Cakewalk's new marketing gimmick is concerned... I am also not at all fond of what I think is a membership  payment.  Maybe I am mis-reading Cakewalk's advertising; but, it smacks of the fact that I own nothing  ... not even a license!  Instead I have a right to use the product for a year as a dues-paying member!

As a result of all this I am trying to get a refund.  Now I'm told that I must go to an outfit called Cleverbridge. As an aside, when I go the their link, I get a Cakewalk site. Just another case of what I think is a a sloppy, poor quality, online presence.  I am curious as to whether or not I am getting old and consequently impatient with the silliness that accompanies these kinds of commercial gimmicks!  Does anyone else out there harbor  the same mindset.

I think after the install via C3 I saw a few folks saying the computer required a reboot (with an internet connection active) and then Platinum works. Have you tried rebooting after the install?

Don't just give up, send a PM to the Bakers. Ryan Munis would be a good choice.

You're right, it is a membership payment.  But yes, you are mis-reading the advertising. If you pay up front (just like we always have) or pay 12 consecutive monthly instalments, you get to own and keep everything you paid for.
The membership entitles you to a whole bunch of upgrades and extra content, equivalent to a complete 'old style' upgrade.

Hope all is well Mike.  It's been a while sine I've seen a post from you!

Yes!  I've rebooted several times.  I still get a message saying "Can't Save"  "Demo Mode" then at the bottom right  of the so called "toast" (whatever that is supposed to mean)  it says "ACTIVATE HERE".  When clicked, it takes me to something that gives me instructions for "Offline Activation" as if my computer isn't connected to the internet ... but it is!

But yes, you are mis-reading the advertising.

Thanks Karyn

I remain somewhat embarrassed since I failed to read the  following:
After 12 months of SONAR Membership you get to keep everything you have received, even if you choose not renew.
