Well I have been using Sonar since v3, but needs and circumstances mean I have to move to Ableton Live 9, so in order to help finance that can I sell (transfer my licences) to any members here, it will include

Sonar X3e Producer
Pro Channel add ons
The included synths
Guitar Rig 4
and anything else I have forgot.

Not too sure on the process in this but welcome any interest.

Everything can be verified with Cakewalk of authenticity with my account and products.

Cakewalk's EULA does not permit reselling the software, so you won't be permitted to sell it here.

I don't think anyone will want to buy software that was designed four years ago, won't be updated, and which legally speaking, you don't own (like almost all software).

if i were you i would hang on to it, your not going to get much for it anyway, and it is quite possible at sometime in the future you may want to make a return to sonar because of some as yet not seen reason, added features, improvements whatever, if that was the case you could be saving yourself money by holding on to it and perhaps getting a sweet upgrade price as apposed to paying the full price again. just as platinum is a whole step up from x3, the same may happen in the future where some update or new version raises the level again and hits it out of the park. i never sell anything (have given away a few things that i inadvertently purchased multiple copies of . . . don't ask ;) . . . . ) but i prefer to keep stuff.

if you are set on trying to sell it, legalities aside, (and i am no lawyer but i believe in some places the not to be resold part of eula's are considered invalid) you could try kvr's 'sell and buy' sub forum, you often see sonar/cakewalk stuff for sale there, however they are usually whole user accounts, i guess you could just set up a new email, attach it to your account, remove/change any personal info from your account etc, they do it quite often. but as i said if i were you i would hold on to it, could save you in the long run, and not much harm done if it doesn't.

Well, to be fair, unlike Sonar, if he tries Ableton Live and doesn't like it, he CAN resell Live.

Just sayin'....................

You didn't ask specifically, but I would consider Grim's advice were I you. He actually even tried to pave some inroads for you-nice guy! For whatever it is worth, sir, I too have everything that I have ever purchased or acquired with a few exceptions (which I somewhat regret). I had this beautiful Korg toy that was tons of fun to play around with but just didn't really have any true longevity, other than serving as a fun toy to mess around on. I actually wrote a number of my current songs using that silly thing. I dumped it and some other stuff and went totally digital/interface but sort of lament losing it. Boo Hoo.

Just my twopenneth, as an electronic musician I heard how good Ableton was meant to be for that genre. I bought a copy but never did get on with it and love Sonar for my work flow.

It sounds like you would be surprised. Many people would buy it. That version was and is still fantastic. It wouldn't sell for close to original price, but it would sell without question. The problem is the fact it is illegal to sell it based on Sonar's user agreement.

Other companies do allow the transfer of licence of old software and it sells easily.
