It would be really useful to allow more flexibility in ACT configurations for "generic" MIDI controllers, including the ability to create and layout the controls in a GUI for them - plus allow inverting of sliders (for drawbar type operation). Could be a stand alone utility.

+1 Act in general needs some attention. This should be a part of an overhaul of ACT and automation in Sonar

GUI version of AZ Controller needs something like NI LabView (wher NI is "National", not "Native"). So the license for it will be more expensive then any MIDI controller on the market...
But draw bar operations are possible already now.

True, but...

I can't figure out how, if even possible, to configure SONAR for soft pickup. My P6 has 10 faders: a bank of 8 with encoders and solo/mute buttons, 1 fader only, and 1 motorized fader with separate mute and solo buttons. I can map the 8+1 faders to the 9 draw bars no problem, but when I change draw bar presets, the draw bar jumps from its preset to the current position of the fader as soon as I move it. Bummer.

I'd like SONAR/ACT to wait until the fader reaches the position of the current preset before it starts controlling the draw bar.

As far as inverting the faders goes, I can do that now by setting the MIN fader value to 127 and the MAX to 0. Works fine, but then needs to be reconfigured to work normally for all other situations. Would be nice to have a way to automate/simplify that.

If you use it with "ACT MIDI", setting "Capture mode" to "Match" for "Sliders" in the Options tab of ACT MIDI plug-in can help.

If you send faders as MIDI input to some synth, Sonar ACT is not in between. You can try to find some MFX plug-in then.
