I'm in the early stages of  buying the parts for a new build and I am committed to 2011-v3 since I already have an Intel 5820K Haswell. I'm currently using a firewire interface with TI chipset that is working flawless on my current setup. FW seems to be going away as a connection on any MOBO so I'm looking at possibly buying a card to get a few more years out of my Presonus firestudio tube interface. It's either that or spend more money on another usb 2.0 interface . I don't see anything that's PCIe 1 or 2 that is TI based. My old card is PCi and has the compatible TI chipset.
Any recommendations on a card that will help me keep my old interface awhile longer? Additionally I would hope that there's still a driver around to help me use it with Win 10. I hate to gamble and simply buy a card with no prior info ..
Don't know if this matters but I plan to O.C.

It seemed the best option I was also looking but as I already owned a PCI Firewire card going spare I saved on that expense by opting fro a 4th Gen Processor 4790K that had PCI motherboard slots.

Yes the 4790K is more than formidable for most anything and is less expensive considering all of the other additions you need to upgrade. The only advantages to the 2011-v3 are mostly future proofing ,more lanes and cores, but those advantages don't mean much for a smaller project. If I had known that the extra expense was involved I might have gone with 4790K and not cared about " future proofing". The 4790K will be a strong contender for a long time.
