Hey all, I tried to update to Melodyne 4 and am having issues. I got the error message during an upgrade from 2.1.2 Essential which came with X3, so I tried to uninstall the previous 2.1.2 version, but it would not uninstall properly. I keep getting this message when trying to install Melodyne 4:

Error Code: -5001 : 0x80070002
Error Information:
>SetupNew\setup.cpp (142)
PAPP:
PVENDOR:
PGUID:
$16.0.0.435

Melodyne is still on my computer as a stand alone, but will not show up in Sonar x3 (Producer). I can't uninstall it or upgrade it. I just want it back the way it was, in Sonar. Nothing else in Sonar is giving me issues, all is working as it should. Anyone know how to go about fixing this kind of issue? I tried contacting Celemony months ago, but they did not respond.

Are there repair options in the Sonar installation like the original versions of Sonar had? Or, if I reinstall Sonar will it overwrite everything else in the program? I purchased X3 online and it came with 4 separate files, so I'm guessing no.

My voice sounds like a cat with a stomach ache. I need all the help I can get. I need my Melodyne back!

Cakewalk did not write the Melodyne installer. The SONAR X3 installer launches the Melodyne installer written by Celemony.  Any install, repair and uninstall functions are handled by that installer from the Windows Control Panel. I believe the license to Melodyne 2 is surrendered during the upgrade process so the original Melodyne license bundled with X3 is no longer valid.

Yeah, I logged into Celemony and the only thing showing in my account was the upgrade and new serial number for Melodyne 4. So if I reinstall Sonar, Melodyne wouldn't install due to the lapsed license? Not sure how that all stuff works.

Melodyne 2 will install if you let the X3 installer launch the Melodyne installer but it may not work because the license is no good. It really depends on how much of Melodyne 2 is left in the registry from the previous installation. Your best option right now is Celemony support.

Bummer. They haven't got back to me and I've been more that patient. Guess I'll have to try again.

Thanks Scook, I appreciate your help.
