Using Cakewalk/Sonar for music exclusively going on 28 years now (OMG!) and only recently read a post here regarding locking contents in PRV to allow you to open another PRV, and have many PRVs in multidock. Woohoo! Now I've got a PRV open for every section in my ensemble. I'm wondering if there's 
a) a way to assign names to the tabs so they don't all say "Piano Roll - Multiple Tracks"
b) a way to make the PRV windows sticky so that they open automatically when you re-open the project, or if not, maybe there's some way to save and re-open them, instead of selecting the tracks I want in Track View, creating the PRV, locking it, repeat
??

If you aren't using Lenses, the track selections should persist on save/close/re-open. I'm not using Lenses because they don't preserve PRV track selections.

You may want to look in to taking advantage of the PRV Pane.
This way you would only need one instance of the prv and can work with multiple instruments without the need to switch views.
 
With the PRV Pane you can hide notes/Synths, lock data for some tracks while not for others.
It looks like this:

I used to use separate PRV tabs for the longest time.
Then one day I said.. "What's this thing" .
This PRV Pane is pretty cool. Its almost like having a built in Track view in the PRV with locks, mute and solo buttons so you can work on everything right in the piano box.
 
It really comes in handy when you have 3 or 4 midi tracks and your trying to line things up (all or some of the notes).
But like anything, some like it, some don't. Its like the Synth rack, some are die hard Synth rack users.
Me, I never use it. I click on Tracks in the PRV pane or in TV.

I make extensive use of the PRV pane for muting and soloing track when scrubbing in PRV. I occasionally lock and hide tracks, but the limited functionality of that pane is sort of laughable. You can't say "Hide all track but this one", you can't automatically lock the unselected tracks, you can't see folder structures, you can't multiple select tracks to lock or hide them at once, you can't save lock/hide configurations, there are no keyboard shortcuts, etc. etc.... The number of clicks it takes to get things the way you want ("OK, lock, lock, lock, lock, unlock, hide, hide, hide, select" as an example) makes it much less useful than it could/should be.

There are plenty of keyboard shortcuts and you Can select multiple tracks to hide all at once.
Problem is your using Sonar X3 E as I see in your sig (probably should include that in the OP though)

Im not sure what to tell you, your using a version of Sonar that is almost 3 years old.
I was under the impression you were using Sonar Platinum. my bad.
With Platinum and the "Smart Swipe" feature, its 1 click and drag.  Not: "lock, lock, lock, lock".
 
So in short, there is nothing much you can do then. There probably isn't a better way.
But again, that's expected when technology gets better and we use older versions of software.
That's not a knock on your choice, that's just simply how it is.

Thanks for letting me know that. There are so many potential areas to improve a piece of software as complex as Sonar, and so many features I wish would be implemented/improved that aren't for Platinum. I haven't found it quite worth it enough to upgrade yet, but what you've told me above might put me over.
