  • SONAR X2 FAILING TO SCAN FOR PLUGINS

Hi All,

since moving my Sonar X2 64bit to a new computer, no vst scan seems to occur when I open it, even though the "scan on startup" option is checked. I've verified that sonar file locations are complete and correct under Preferences/vst file settings. Most of my vst's are 32 bit, and I have them copied in a separate folder under my 64 bit program files. If I open a project, all the plugins report as missing, and then Sonar crashes.

I'd be grateful for any where to begin . Thanks in Advance for reading and responding!

Have you tried a RESET and RESCAN in Preferences?

Thank you for your suggestion. Those options are "grayed out" in Sonar. Do you know a way to enable them?
BTW, the options for scanning on startup, and re-scanning failed plugins are checked.

Thank you!

There are some ideas in this thread.

EDIT: It could be as simple as unchecking the scan on startup option, but I would still read through the above thread.

If the "Scan VST Folders" and "Reset All VST Plug-ins" buttons are disabled, it means SONAR cannot find the vstscan.exe. You can try re-personalizing SONAR by holding the CTRL+SHIFT keys while starting SONAR and see if the registry entry gets restored otherwise, reinstall SONAR.
