That does not make the thread irrelevant. It is an unusual case and I think very few music/producer forums (that I frequent at least) have a "software developed by sick demented pedophiles" category. So yes, it is outside of the normal categories. The information in this thread however is relevant to a bunch of people who have Kjærhus software installed.

No. It simply does not belong here.

But it did for all the seven years where it actually contained no, zero, information that wasn't speculative? What am I missing here?

A 7 year old thread suddenly brought alive by...

Growlingbehemoth is the tag I have chosen to use here an on a few other forums. So it was suddenly brought back to live by Growlingbehemoth. However, since there was new information about Kjaerhus (The thread subject) there was a good reason to necro the thread instead of starting a new one which would have a headline that would be quite hard to make tasteful. Would that have been better? Did you read the new info at all, if so, why the question?

I've read the whole thread as it had been resurrected after 7 years. I still think the thread should be deleted. It seems from all reports, that the persons conduct has been uncovered and punishment has been meted out. I can't see the benefit of it being discussed in the Sonar forum. If it must be here it should be in the Coffee House. Are we to get involved every time an associate of someone who's software we use is convicted of some heinous crime. Perhaps the coffee house but I'm not sure even there.

I don't think it should be deleted but maybe it's time to lock it.

Cakewalk product, so belongs here. This question comes up again and again, so thanks the info growlingbeomouth.

Locking makes sense, as it's been answered. Can always unlock if he's acquitted

Wow. Just...wow. Never saw this coming.

This is certainly unprecedented in terms of forum topics. I'd like to thank growlingbehemoth for solving a mystery that has existed for quite some time, as well as for the measured tone of his (or her) posts. Also, the discussion about the moral implications of using the software is interesting. I agree with (I think it was Ampfixer) that it's a personal choice whether to use it or not. I doubt I'll be using the VC64 (one of my favorite plug-ins) not so much out of principle, but because seeing it will trigger feelings of revulsion and I would prefer not to have those feelings while in a creative space.

There are legal issues with Cakewalk adapting or modifying the software if CW doesn't own the rights. But in my ideal world, the solution would be that Cakewalk would make the software 64-bit compatible, sell it for $49, and donate all proceeds to charities that fight human trafficking. That way the product of a pedophile would end up being used for good.

i do agree this thread should be locked, but in a few days. This has been an enduring mystery for so long I'd like to make sure there's an opportunity for people to see it.

How can we be sure that some of these pictures are not embedded within DLL  when we use his software. We could all be at risk from this. Anyway to check beside removing this software?

Anything is possible but the same could go for any other piece of software on your computer. Seems pretty far fetched to me, but again, a personal choice.
