Track templates should save all settings pertaining to the track:
routings
folder
plugs
colors
meters
heights
lanes: open/ closed / height / fit to content,....
AND DATA!!!! MIDI and audio, with all automation

was really surprised/disappointed when I realized track templates did not store colors ... my funky pink tracks and buses all gone grey again :-(

Some are optimists, I know I were.
 
I throw in a vote and extension to include options for screensets, if to save colors right now with it.
I've seen request from people wanting to change color scheme easily - since some colors are based on other colors, just making them darker etc.
 
So different edit situation may require different color scheme.
