I recently find that some settings, especially volumes, were changing "by themselves" in my projects. For example, the volume of a track was -2dB and one day it became -6db.
 
I finally found the reason: unwanted modifications done by my mouse wheel when scrolling the strips in the console view! When you move the wheel near the volume fader, it makes it move...
 
I don't want this behaviour. I've not found an option to change that. Any suggestion? Or maybe a solution in a further monthly update?

For me, it's actually a pretty useful function (especially in combination with "Shift" for 0.1 dB increments / decrements values), because it doesn't change the focus of a selected track or bus.
 
But I agree, changing volume or pan values inadvertently when scrolling vertically in Console View is a risk and could maybe be avoided if an option to switch this behaviour on or off would exist.
 
Personally, as said above, I don't want to lose this feature and meanwhile, I just pay attention where I put the mouse pointer when scrolling in Console View...

I like the idea of having it toggle-able, I see how it can be useful for many people, I'd be more than happy with even just the option to turn it off instead

And Klaus made me think about another solution: as on option ONLY (because some people are happy with the current behaviour), the volume fader would move only if you click at the same time on a certain key (Shift or Alt or something else). I would find it good because I scroll a strip maybe 100 times within a SONAR session and don't want to think about this risk every time. But it doesn't bother me to have to click Shift or Alt when I really want to move the fader.

Good idea, and wouldn't bother me, either!
Ctrl or Alt would be good candidates, since Shift is already in use.
 
Best of both worlds: Keep an existing feature but prevent it from problems which could occur when used inadvertently.
Changing Volume values by mistake is quite significant.
 

Voted.  Not so much because it affects me on a regular basis, but rather that I see some good logic in it.
