I had some issues using my vs700 and UAD Apollo USB. Initially it seemed that both could not live together. I now start Sonar (Platinum) and before I open my project I switch on the Apollo. The interface gets activated and seems to work. As I most often use my RME A/D converter the UAD plugins use DSP of the APollo and not the audio input/output. VS700 also works ok. 
Switching projects sometimes give problems. In that case I have tot restart. 
 
Anyone using VS700 and Apollo USB in combination? What's your experience?

I'm using the VS700C (without the VS700R) and an Apollo Twin USB without any problems.

If you just use the VS-700C connected via USB it should work fine with every interface (works nicely here with MOTU).
 
No need to keep the VS-700R switched on when using another interface as ASIO only allows for one interface. So by using the VS-700C connected via USB you can use either interface (Apollo or VS-700R) at a time but dont need to worry about which to turn on in what sequence.

Thanks for your responses. I'm using the 700C only, also have UAD PCIe duo card. Issue that pops up consequently is that the system does not find the 700c when the Apollo has been activated, or the other way around: doesn't find the Apollo when the 700C is already connected. Maybe due to restriction in the USB3 or the combination with the PCIe?

this may well be a USB port issue. have you tried a different port or better a true USB2 (which the VS-700C was designed for?)

I think I did, tx for the tip. Studio is under construction at the moment. Once I get in I will check.

I had to re-install the 700C, now on a USB2. That worked, the UAD and VS700C now work as they should. Tx!
