I'm having a problem with a plugin error stopping me from opening a project in Sonar 8.5.
 
Basically I was using a Waves plug-in demo which has expired, and now I cannot open the project it was in because a VST Plug-In Error constantly pops up while trying to load it.
 
Any way I can work around this without having to buy the plugin?

Try opening it in Safe Mode.
