I have an older Roland / Cakewalk device - UA-101.  It recently got the driver update for Windows 10 (thanks for the quick port to Windows 10 :-)).

I would really like to be able to control each channel independently.  Currently (and with every previous version of the driver / application), the channels are (were) always managed in pairs (e.g. 1-2, 3-4, etc.)

Id' like the patch bay to be able to set each output individually instead of by pairs.  That would give my much more control over my devices.  I can work around not having this by creative connecting of the devices.  However, I still run short of "controllable" connections.  9-10 cannot be used without disabling all other channels because they are digital, leaving me only 8.  because they are managed by pairs, I really have only 4.

Best regards - David

Cakewalk does not make hardware or write drivers. The relationship with Roland (the company which made the interface and wrote the driver) was severed when Roland sold Cakewalk to Gibson Brands in 2013.

This needs to be moved to Cakewalk hardware forums.

The OP should contact Roland, sadly I see no chance that it will ever be implented.

You used to be able to unlink the stereo input pairs in the UA-101 mixer/driver application if you needed to control channels seperately in that.

Sonar treats the inputs as 1L, 1R and the combination as 1 stereo, but you can point one track's input at either of the "pairs" and another at the other so Sonar handles the inputs as mono ones.

As for the driver, the UA series interfaces were originally made by Edirol. Then Roland took Edirol over and acquired Cakewalk and decided to re-badge the interfaces as "Cakewalk", though Cakewalk didn't maintain the drivers, Roland did. Roland later discontinued them and replaced them with interfaces badged as Roland. When Cakewalk became part of the Gibson group the interfaces and responsibility for their drivers stayed with Roland.

So any requests for modification to the drivers or software for the UA series need to go to Roland.
