Hello All,

I am really enjoying the Tungsten theme with Sonar Platinum.  Most things are really working well for me and I am thankful to the Bakers for all they have accomplished with Platinum.

I am,however, wondering when will we ever be able to add color fully to our tracks and Channel strips.   Personally, I am not fond of just the small area at the the end of the track and console view assigned for changing the color for each track or channel strip.  It is much easier to fully see the groups of instruments when the colors are fully visible, not just at the end.

I know fill track and channel strip colorization is still available for used in the Mercury theme in Platinum, however, how come it's not available for use with the Tungsten them?

Apparently the integrating themes and colored strips is a nontrivial task. You may recall the strip color option was new in X3, years after the introduction of the Skylight interface in X1.

It is a popular feature request http://bakery.cakewalk.com/Idea/12154/Please-bring-back-coloured-strips-in-Tungsten

This is my understanding as well. Cakewalk is aware that many users want this.

you have my vote. I really didn't think this would be such a big deal at first but I am really missing those colored strips.

Not just in tungsten. It should be for all themes. Alternative ideas have also been put forward, such as borders, Fader caps. Being the idea is so popular I wish they had implemented something, being something was removed with out any explanation.

Yes! I still use the Mercury theme even though I really dig the Tungsten color theme. And I'll stay with Mercury until the other has color strips.

Same here. Even though I love Tungsten, I had to go back to Mercury for the colored channel strips. I really hope they can fix this. I know there are other DAWs out there with dark themes that also have colored channel strips.

If they want to make it an option then so be it, but please, please, please don't take away the ability to not have it! The only reason I bought Plat was to get the dark console view back and banish forever the dreary grey or play school colour scheme options.

The Color strip option says "Mercury theme only". That's clear. This feature is discontinued.

I don't know why, when the software designers in general "innovate", that means downgrade. Ten or fifteen years ago, for example, we had 3D color icons, and the software manufacturers said that it would be a revolution for our efficiency, because it could help us identify things quickly. Now we've got dark software with flat, black and white icons and logos. That must be technical progress...

It's a pity because Tungsten is so beautiful! But it's not usable for me.

It's such a shame that Mercury with colored strips is no longer available! /snark

Cakewalk did not take anything away. I don't get the complaints. Submit a feature request, and move on. Use Mercury if you absolutely have to have full colored strips, and enjoy the other great features added to the product in the meantime.
