I know I've seen this info on this forum but I can't find anything about it even for older versions, weird.
 
There used to be an easy way to edit an INI file to change the order of the widgets.  Is there still a way to do this without using 3rd party utilities?
 
I want to swap the volume/pan with the MSR on the track view...

Hold down the Alt key and click and drag the widget to its new location.  As soon as you start to drag the widget is outlined in red.
