So SD is nowhere in Plugin Manager - included or excluded - but the DLL does exist in one of your VST scan paths?   If so, that is really weird...   I can't think of anything else to try under those two circumstances other than to install SD to an entirely different folder (directly under c:\ if possible) and try adding that new path to your VST scan.

I'm having the same problem and none of the suggestions here have worked. My SD3 is in C:\VstPlugIns\x64\Cakewalk\Session Drummer 3 and the content folder is there as well C:\VstPlugIns\x64\Cakewalk\Session Drummer 3\Contents

did you try what I told you in the other thread ?
this worked for me, it took about 10 minutes to do.

do you still have X2 installed ?
try using the session drummer 3 from your X2 installation instead of the x3 installation.
remember custom install and only select session drummer to be installed.

PS- you need to remove all of session drummers contents (sample, sfz, vst and all.)

Doing a custom install didn't work. Although the dll is there it seems to be invisible to all DAW's. I don't have X2 installed but I will try a custom install of SD3 from that installer in the morning . It's getting a bit late here in the UK.
Thanks :)

Has anyone found a full fix for this. Have problem on laptop and desktop - on laptop managed to get it working with X2 install of Session Drummer, on desktop now completely gone and unable to fix.

Please Cakewalk, help us out here!

Would not mind if it was a plugin I don't use, but have been using this (and bought add-on kits for it) so have quite a bit invested in it.

You may need to run regsvr with the DLL name.

That only works for DX(i) plugins.  SD3 is a VST

You might try looking at this thread...

http://forum.cakewalk.com/Solved-Session-Drummer-3-missing-when-opening-project-m2918263.aspx

I'm afraid that the X3 installer might be doing damage to some existing registry entries.  Reinstalling from the X2 or previous media should clear it up.  However, if that doesn't seem to be doing it, you might try looking in the registry for...

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music Software\SessionDrummer3

...if that's there and there isn't a similar set of keys in...

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SessionDrummer3

...then copy the SessionDrummer3 stuff from the Wow6432Node\Cakewalk... branch to the other ..\Cakewalk... branch and see what happens.

Awesome Jim
This is the second time this exact issue has happened to me and the first time I remember finding the solution fairly quickly but this time it was harder for some reason lol.  Thank god for my tenacity because I certainly lack in memory.

Here it is:

go to the link in the above website:

and download the appropriate file and it literally takes seconds to download and when you reboot Sonar everything is golden.  Hopefully I can save some other people a lot of grief.
