Awesome Jim
This is the second time this exact issue has happened to me and the first time I remember finding the solution fairly quickly but this time it was harder for some reason lol.  Thank god for my tenacity because I certainly lack in memory.

Here it is:

go to the link in the above website:

and download the appropriate file and it literally takes seconds to download and when you reboot Sonar everything is golden.  Hopefully I can save some other people a lot of grief.

Jim

glad the link was removed

Awesome Jim
unrelated - but how do you post URL links here when it doesn't seem to allow it? Hence why mine were blank lol.

Post more often, links are allowed after about 25 posts or so or post the URL in a way the parser does not recognize the link as a URL for example instead of http://cakewalk.com use http:/ /cakewalk.com

I am having this same exact problem. I've tried the various solutions in multiple threads and nothing works. This is my first time purchasing Sonar so I don't have access to any previous versions. Session Drummer was one of the main reasons I opted to go with Sonar. This is a pretty big bummer. Do they have no one from the company reading these forums?

If this https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013357/Session-Drummer-3-is-not-being-recognized-by-SONAR-X3 does not work, contact tech support. This is a user forum, do not expect tech support to address issues directly on the forum.

Possible Solution Found:
Apply this patch:
www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30679
re-boot if necessary

Then
Fire Up X3 -
GoTo Preferences -> VST Settings
Check Rescan Failed Plugins and Rescan Existing Plugins
Click [Reset] - and let the VST scanner do its thing
UnCheck the Rescan Failed/Existing checkboxes and click OK
Now check the SoftSynths and see if old SD3 isn't available now....

Sorry not more detailed - am tired from fighting this all night - but I finally got it back
Hope this helps someone....CE

PS - I lost SD3 after the Windows 10 upgrade - this is what got it back...
