  • Issues with Windows 10 and Echo Audio Layla 3G audio/MIDI interface

It seems that I often have the situation that, on launching some applications, they don't seem to "see" my Echo Layla 3G properly. For example, I'll be on Facebook and there's a video I want to see, but when I play it there's no sound. I generally have to reboot to get sound back. It seems to perhaps be related to opening an application that uses audio, then subsequent ones "lose" the device. SONAR gives a clear message that it can't find its audio outputs. It seems to have appeared on the scene after the upgrade from Windows 7 -> Windows 10. It's not the end of the world, but it sure is annoying. Anyone have any ideas what might be going on and what (if anything) I might be able to do to get around it, short of using the computer purely for audio recording with SONAR?
Thanks in advance...

Wow, no replies at all... At any rate, I decided to put my Echo Layla 3G up on eBay and replaced it yesterday with a brand-new 2nd-generation Focusrite Scarlett 6i6. So far so good (though I'm having trouble getting a signal into SONAR from the S/PDIF input from my Line 6 POD HD.)

good get! i'm getting a 6i6 soon. win10 doesn't like legacy devices and especially drivers.

I must've missed this post last year, sorry about that.
FWIW, I'm using my ECHO Layla 3G in Windows 10 for a year or so now, and it's rock-solid. Not that I browse Facebook on my DAW, though....

You probably have to change the clock in preferences.

My Echo Gina 3G, which uses the same drivers as the Layla 3G, works surprisingly well in Windows 10.

The problem I have is that the motherboard sound chip drivers don't always load in Windows 10 when I boot the system, which forces me to reboot the system.  I use the internal sound for browsing and YouTube playback.

Glad that some of the older Echo interfaces work with windows 10... I am using the Audiofire4, and would really like to upgrade from win 7 to 10, but they've moved out of the interface market, no longer support them, and hardware compatibility with win 10 seems to be important...  good luck and report back!

FYI, audiofire4 works great for me in Windows 10.  Echo wrote some great drivers. They just keep working fine. I thought I would have had to get a new interface a long time ago. I think I've had it for about ten years.

I've just spent a few hours recording with my new Scarlett 6i6 and it was a total joy. Even figured out what was wrong with my S/PDIF signal from the POD HD.
