Ive never used this type of thing before, I finally got SONAR installed however when I record my guitar through the duo capture the sound is extremely fuzzy and doesnt sound anything likemy guitar. Does anyone know where I could find a video tutorial of how to both use and set up SONAR and the DUO CAPTURE. Please help!!! Thanks

Not a video but here are the hardware setup instructions https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/Audio-Hardware-Setup-Guide?audioMake=Roland&audioModel=Duo-Capture&product=SONAR+X1+LE

In addition to the tutorials provided in the help files, there are free videos here http://www.cakewalk.com/CakeTV

Hey, thanks for that,i followed those instructions but there is still an awful noise being produced. Not like ive seen in videos of a perfect clear recording and playback, it is extremely distorted, loud and fuzzy.

If you are running ASIO (like the instructions suggest), you probably need to increase the ASIO buffer setting the the client software provided by Roland. I do not have the device so I cannot provide more details for that task.

You might want to provide a little more information about the hardware and OS. Is the internal sound chip also enabled?

Hi I use the Duo-Capture Ex with Sonar X1 and X2 producer. It works fine for me.
Start checking the settings on the Duo-Capture. When plugging in a guitar directly use Input 1, if you connect an amplifier use Input 2. Set the Sens pots on the front of the Duo-Capture between 1 and 2 o'clock. Plugin a headphone in the Phones jack and make sure that the output pot is not overdriving your head phones.
Setup Sonar for ASIO drivers, normally the default ASIO setting is OK. In your track set your volume properly. This should do it.

Hi i think i am use the more simplified duo capture. The duo capture MK2. I appreciate all the help but i Still dont actually know how to do the things you are suggesting. Would you be able to talk me through the steps for setting up the ASIO etc? Could the buzzing noise produced be caused through a fault in mu guitar?
Thanks again

The Duo-Capture MK2 is indeed another model, I use the Duo-Capture EX. I strongly recommend that you read the documentation of the Duo-Capture thoroughly. If it is the correct one the rear of it looks like below. There you will find the Hi-Z and an input gain switch. You did not mention whether you plugin directly or via an amplifier. I would suggest you set the gain switch to LO anyway. Try this first then read the Cakewalk documentation on how to set ASIO.
