Stupid forum software hangs causing one to repeat the Submit button while nothing happens each time only to find you've beat the system by posting 3 times in 15 seconds which it will normally not let you do thus increasing your post count by 2 more than you're legally entitled to. ...

Sorry folks i forgot to mention my sound card is an E-mu 0404 pci 24 bit ,going in into windows 7 home premium with sonar 7 pro e/d . on cpu 4 gig ram. Would it be compatible ? would this run straight off? or will i have to download any special service packs driver etc......??

There is a wealth of information for E-MU interface users on the following website -
http://www.productionforums.com/viewforum.php?f=179&sid=d50355c444466ca6caa1544b9a29cc7f  Post your questions there. I'm pretty sure that if you search the website, you can find posts relating to the use of the 0404 PCI interface with Windows 7. Also, one of the longtime users, "Jmail", is a warehouse of knowledge about E-MU stuff. If anyone can help you, he can.

For the record, I use an E-MU 1616m PCMCIA CardBus 32-bit interface on one of my laptops running Windows 7 64-bit. I use a "Beta" driver that E-MU released a few years back. Works like a charm. That laptop is a backup to my other laptop that runs an RME Babyface Pro, also on Windows 7 64-bit. Though I haven't needed to run the E-MU laptop as a backup, I still use it from time to time to run BFD2 (the Babyface Pro laptop runs BFD3).

If you have a Windows 7 disc, you are better off doing a clean OS install from the disc, and NOT installing Windows 7 over XP.

If you have an "Upgrade" Windows 7 disc, and you want to know how to clean install, read this -

FWIW, I was using the E-MU 0404 PCI card in my desktop up until a few months ago, with Windows 7, then Windows 10 when it came out. The card finally crapped out, so I decided to go with a USB audio interface, but it was a good card for many years.

Sadly, I don't have the latest drivers still, but if I remember correctly, I think the driver and application files I found at this link were what I was using: http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=237&catName=Digital+Audio+Systems&prodID=20022&prodName=E-MU+0404+PCIe
