Wayne Here,.i was using the 22 12 0 12 patch of platinum yesterday and when I tried to split one note to align it with the bar I had strange results,. I moved one note to the left maybe 50 milliseconds, after splitting the left and rite side of the note and fading the splits at zero crossings. after the note was moved, there was one note to the rite that was not changed but now some haw became selected and beyond that there was a hole that had been erased or a region approximately one measure long and beyond that, the data had been moved left, moved farter then the measure that had been erased, leaving the track totally destroyed. so I used undo and saved both before and after undo,.and did screen shots, very strange,. I had this trouble before too,. but I didn't remember rite away,.
the work around was to use cut and paste which worked ok,., or I think I ended up using x2 or x3, or 8.5.3,.that was a few months ago,,. this time,.I haven't tried x3 yet, instead, yesterday, I went online and attempted to download a update which I finally completed after 2 failed attempts, took all nite long to get a update and most of yesterday,. help files never did work after a few hours to download they were corrupted,. I can try again later,. I'm going to go off line and try drag drop again using the just downloaded  23 1 0 32 patch, and now, I have some Microsoft updates too, I'm using windows 10 and an old dell T7500 work station with a pair of 64 bit xeon cpus and 12 slots total of memory cards , 6 slots +3 channels per cpu,.grpahics are being handled with a quadro 2000 an old one, but a good one. along with an emu creative professional pci card ,.1212m and or 1616m. I have exceptional clean signal. and have been using sonar for about 10 years now,. the project I'm working on has tracks that I recorded two years ago using either x2 or x3, the pre recorded tracks were in a project that had a full picture cache over 2 giga bytes so I pasted a select few to a blank template for editing,. the template made up using the last patch of 2016 platinum, the 22 12 0 12  and drag and drop and nudge both gave the same unexpected result,. fyi,. oh one other thing the metronome when I changed it from quarted beat to any other setting stopped working and would not work again if I saved the project,.one section the metronome was too fast so I tried slowing it and no go, had to use midi track for keeping the beat instead,. fyi wayne H 

SOLVED. was a change to the drag drop option dialog box,.
the option that was selected,.it was 'move over to make room.'
I changed it back to where it usually allways is, blend old and new.
I have reached a point where I don't even look at the options anymore,
just look for the ok button,.
I had to select blend old and new and now, it shud stay like that, set on 'blend old and new',.
it must be something in the update that caused the option to change ,.I could have sworn that the default was blend old and new,.thats what it was last time this happened back in july of 2016 too. and I stil haven't learned to LOOK at the options,. I'm in a hurry.
hurry up! click ok!! I need to slow down some too and be more careful I suppose,.
I'm going back offline again,. I only came back on line to let you know what it was,.
that one of the metronome, I never did figure that one out. 
the metronome issue
cant change from anything other then what it is set on  quarter beats, only does that on one project that and only one portion of the one project,. yet it doesn't do it on a template, only on my existing project the time is not your usual 4/4,. I cant remember,. maybe 6/8, maybe 12 16th. I would look but I have to reboot to get to the place where the information is and that means go off line,.the place in the tune is faster moving and the 'beat every quarter note' is too fast so I try to change it and the metronome stops working and change it back it wont work either have to exit and reopen to make it come back. and if I save the project the metronome wont work again after that, but if I go to the earlier version saved it works again.. I used a midi file and session drummer for a metronome instead during that short few minutes of that section of the tune (is about 25 minutes full length),. there is an issue with clips that wont stop recomputing too, on projects that exceed 2 giga bytes of picture cache,. hoping CAKEWALK people increase picture cache size or include a ini option to do so. please,. 3 to 4 giga bytes would be nice. I had to stop using the same same project and have it spread all over the place in different versions now because over 2 giga bytes it took too long to open before I had a hi speed array and SONAR wont save any new pictures that are made that wont fit in the 2 GB cache. The just computed pictures are lost when I exit. So I make up smaller versions that end up buried in a mountain of files. Two years plus I  been on this project ,. its the bomb for real ,. so cant tell you much about that. is one of them developed at provate xpensi,.
SONARS mix is absolutely outstanding ,. so its not all bad,. and prochannel eq with the graph is outstanding too, need a good machine tho for pro channel wouldnt play real time on my old machine with a quad core and 4 GB of memory(that was maxed out, ddr2, 32 bit,2 slots),. new old machine t7500_plays good now real time.enuf keying,. ok youz guys and ladies two,. have a good one,.and thank you.
