This is a welcome change. I don't think there would be a whole lot of complaints if the next several months were dedicated to improving existing features as opposed to introducing new ones. Most of us have plenty to learn about already existing aspects of the program. Lately it seemed that every month you downloaded the new version in hope that the bugs and whatnot introduced by the previous version would be remedied only to get a new bunch of problems to be addressed in next months update. I'm guessing at this point, that after 30 years of layering code on top of each other, that it becomes extremely difficult to add new stuff without having unintended consequences. Don't get me wrong, I like many of the newer features that I've been able to figure out how to use, but sometimes a new anomaly can leave you dead in the water which can really take the joy out of music making.
