Hey guys. Im new to MC6. Bought it yesterday. My problem is when i insert a synth part into one of my songs using insert>soft synth>cakewalk sound centre. Then even when i select another track by using insert>soft synth> cakewalk ts1 suddenly all the midi files and drum loops all sound like they are running through a synth?

By midi drums i mean the one that come down the right hand side in midi files that you can add to your song. I also dont get whyi cant preview any of the sounds until i insert a cakewalk ts1?? Track into the song? Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks in advance

Zeano... welcome.

Tell us about the computer and especially the sound card and driver mode you are using.

Using i phone at momemnt so cant give a specific sound card as im at work. But i use ASIO deivers as i have a line 6 ux1 usb interface to plug my guitar and mic in. I used to record using a boss br1200 the. I statted with computers and used riffworks for a few years but the quality was never amazing. Loving the quality of music creator..... Litterally album quality but just struggling with the synths and midi sides of things.

Welcome to the forum.
If you hear MIDI tracks, they are all running through a synth.
If they seem to be playing the same patch, try changing each MIDI track's channel.
The UX1 is the sound card Guitarhacker asked about in your case.
TTS-1 can accept input from up to 16 MIDI tracks; Sound Center needs a new instance of the synth for each MIDI track you want to use it with.

So i need to change each midi tracks channel and this will kind of reset the synth sound ?

Well, MIDI tracks going to the same synth need to be on different channels. So if you have 1 instance of TTS-1 inserted and you have several MIDI tracks going to it, they should be on different channels or they'll all sound the same.
If you mean you insert 1 instance of TTS-1 and all the tracks you already have change sounds, I don't know what that could be, especially if you didn't go into the MIDI tracks and change their outputs to TTS-1.

if you look at my web site on the music and recording page.... look for the info on TTS.

I have explained there how to set TTS up to use different instruments on different tracks. It requires as Greg said having the channels in TTS set to a different midi channel and using the correct patch and bank to play the sound you want.

to make it easy>>>> http://www.herbhartley.co...edited_slimmer_005.htm   simply scroll down to Advanced TTS setup & operation.
