Hi there,
I don't know where no legacy firewire support came from, but in windows 10,  it's there. I have a TI Firewire card in my system for my Focusrite Pro 40 audio interface and it's working great.....
Other than that, the only thing I can suggest to people who do want to upgrade to windows 10 is do download all of the latest drivers for your hardware and put them safe on another hard drive and when a windows 10 driver doesn't work right, you have the latest and correct driver for your hardware..

Fyi if you are running mix control 3.X (latest is 3.6) Focusrite recommends that you do not use legacy drivers.

I haven't had any issues in Windows 10. But I checked out driver support before upgrading.

BTW, I had 2 different 8.1 pcs exhibit intermittent drops from the network recently. Ended up being caused by avast antivirus. Replacing avast with webroot "cured" the problem.

Everything has been smooth here, using the same drivers I used for 8.1 (and I have a VIA firewire chipset)

Ahh...thank you for clarifying that up...you are quite correct in that don't use legacy driver mode...just use the regular firewire driver and everything will be great..:)

I've been using Webroot's SecureAnywhere (fantastic little program BTW) for 2 years now and the intermittent drops only happened after Win 10 was installed.

Looks like the Win 8.1 drivers (in compatibility mode) might be the trick.
Thanks for posting this DRanck.

In my experience, all seems ok, including a Midas Venice F (firewire) console.

No need to do anything, everything worked fine immediately.

Seems that the biggest problem is the drivers for Audio interfaces, there is no legacy firewire support for 10 at this moment much as with 8.x, though they did relent in the end for 8.x.

Other than that annoying feature I have no complaints.

Just go to your device manager and try it the option is not available even after installing the 8.1 windoze legacy driver.

I updated my DAW to Windows 10, 64 bit and it is working great!

I updated to Win 10 from Windows 8.1 and then performed a fresh install of Windows 10 from my USB drive so it could format the HD and give me a clean install.   I re-installed Sonar X3e and all of my purchased plugins and soft synths.  I first added a new MOBO and a new processor and some ram and then performed the update, now my DAW is working nice and smooth.

My Roland Octa-Capture used the same drivers from Windows 8.1 also my old Legacy M-Audio Radium 49 keyboard, My Trigger Finger pad controller, my Motu Micro lite and my Mackie Universal Controller all works under Win 10 with their Windows 8 or older drivers.

No problems here.

I have upgraded to windows 10 only to find that some of my hardware does not work. There are no problems when it comes to software and windows 10. Sonar Platinum works well with it. I even have older software that would not work in windows 7 but it loads and works fine in windows 10.

My PCR-800 does not work in windows 10 and there are no driver updates for it. I really don't know if Roland will come out with a newer version of this driver as this midi controller has been discontinued for some time. So I reinstalled windows 7 on the computer that i use for recording.

I upgraded 3 other computers using windows 10 and all is fine. Just make sure your hardware works before you update. I am not sure what to do about my midi controller. I really don't want to replace it.
