Apparently MS is pushing the Win 10 upgrade files onto hard drives even of those who have not requested it.

Well, MS didn't have to push me to get it and for the most part, I'm happy with it. The only issue I'm having is my Broadcom Ethernet driver is intermittent and even after getting a newer driver from Broadcom's site, I'm still having the same issue.

I briefly read (today) that the Realtek network adapter is could be one of the causes of this.
The other cause being the Anti Virus program (some have recommended to roll back to the earlier version of Win (7, 8, 8.1), uninstalling the Anti Virus programme, and then and then upgrading to Win 10....which has worked for them.

I wish there was a clear path to fixing this as I don't like to just take shot in the dark and hope it works out.....at the same time, it's very annoying to have intermittent connection online, and I may just have to take a shot in the dark.

I know that issue. Try installing latest win8.1 compatible driver on broadcoms site (will work on win10).
