Not much to it. The drums were from some CD I had with some drum tracks on it. I used an old Peavey Fury for bass and an older Ibanez 335 type guitar into my V-AMP 2 on a a Mesa Boogie Mark IIC setting. I still think that old Vamp sounds pretty darn good.

I know most of you guys aren't jazz heads. Try not to cringe too much. Your face might freeze that way.

Hey Bill ,

Them sausage fingers of yours  are moving around pretty good there on the fret board and your clips sounds good .
It can still use some refinement ..not a crit just an observation .

Not my finest moment, but I thought it was okay. Thanks for listening all.

Classic jazz tones, nice walking bass, brush drums, nice, thanks for sharing.

Do you find a short guitar easier to play?

Yes! Smaller guitars are much easier to play. In fact, when they're very tiny, they actually play themselves.

I've always enjoyed playing bass. I think that's one of the reasons I'm primarily a fingerpicker. I get to play bass and melody at the same time. I've been wanting to post a fingerpicked version of "The Candy Man" for quite a while now, but I broke a nail all the way down to the nub a week or ten days ago and want it to grow back out first. I also want to add tablature to the video which I suppose will take forever in Flash....

Liked the lead tone and the little volume swell control at the end! Tasty improv choices, and I'll just say Walter Becker might have liked your style.

The bass timing might be a little early just in a couple of spots?

Nice slinky feel throughout, good job!

Tom,

I know exactly the two identical instances you mean. They come in the first minute. Actually, there's a grace note in there that's barely discernible, and if you could hear it better I think the timing would make sense. Maybe I shouldn't have done it that way. I was trying to get a bit fancier than the song called for. The bass suffers from "toomanynotes syndrome" in a couple of places.

Love that piano piece you posted. Will comment on it when I get a minute.
