Sweet playing and tone Bill! I liked that brief 'violining' part too.

Bill,

Very good track.   The guitar tone is fantastic.    Bass playing is really good too, you might consider giving the bass a little more presence in the 2-4k range.   Someone mentioned bass timing, I think the presence boost would reduce that perception, when the track is loud the timing sounds fine, I think your grace notes are disappearing at lower volume.

Had a couple listens through and thoroughly enjoyed this production.

Good points Mark. I put the bass through a little Toneworks Ampworks Bass Modeling pedal. I never could get the sound I really wanted with that thing.

Thanks for the listen.

Great tone on the guitar. Its amazing what older gear can do sometimes. Nice playing too.

Yep, have to agree, great playing and tone... Loved the ending

I was wondering if a double bass would have sounded nice with this...

Thanks guys.

Good idea about the double bass.

For what it's worth, an early version of this tune got some airplay at some small stations, particularly one in Indiana. In fact, it was the only song on the record that got any airplay at all and was the only jazz tune on it. I'm thinking that shorter pieces like this are more easily digestible to the general public, so I've thought about doing a whole album of shorter jazz pieces. We'll see.
