  • [Solved] Sonar Artist - screensets missing after 2016.11 update

I am wondering whether other users of Artist have the same problem:
Basically, the screensets module disappeared from the module dock and its menu after the recent update which made me think that Lenses have replaced the screensets feature altogether.

I've already sent a report to Cakewalk.

have you tried going to Control bar / options / reset all modules ?

This might be easier than the method I suggested in the other thread.

1. Select the "Advanced" lens from the Lens drop-down. At this point, the Screenset module should appear in the CB (placed 6th from the right). If your monitor is not big enough, it will be displayed in the "Collapsed" state.
2. Click "Manage Lenses" from the Lens drop-down to open the Lens Manager.
3. Check all boxes that are unchecked (e.g. "Theme" on the right).
4. Click the "+" button in the upper section, enter a desired lens name in the box next to it, then click the floppy disk icon to save the current settings/layout as your custom lens.
5. Click Open to exit the Lens Manager.

Btw, "Reset All Modules" only displays modules that are selected in the Lense Manager. The ones unchecked won't show up.

No joy. Still no screensets. Here's a screenshot after all the steps:

Interesting. If you open the Lens Manager, do you see a "Screenset" box (just below "ACT," and above "Mix Recall") under Control Bar -> Modules in the Features list? Is the box checked?

It's there and it's checked. Still no screensets... Another screenshot:

So, it must be a bug. I really hope CW will address the issue very soon. Maybe re-personalizing the program (launching SONAR with Ctrl held down) can fix it, but it will also reset other settings (e.g. friendly names in Browser, Initialization Files in Preferences), so I don't recommend it. If they don't reply soon, maybe you can try what I suggested in the other thread (exporting/importing CB layout/settings).

I've updated to 2016.12 just to check if the issue is fixed. Nope. Still there...

I have contacted Support on this.  After a while they apologized to me and said that this was no longer available in Artist.  Suggested Lenses would be better.  I'm not really happy with that.  I've lost a feature, not gained one.  I've found the lenses a bit quirky too.
