hello,
If you have the command center installed right click on the command center icon select Run Admin...

Also if this is not really the problem please provide more info about your system, windows version...

If you click on the gear icon in command center, you'll see what folder the install files are saved in and you can run the install file as admin from there.

thanks for that, found it.
  1.  SONAR_Platinum_Setup_21.0.1.254.exe
  2. Run as admin, with same no install result.
comp stats: Win7 x64, i7, 16gb ram, 7200 rpm HDD

hum?, Well I can only tell you what I would do.... reboot and try it again.
Then if that was not working I would uninstall everything related to the Command Center/Sonar install. Reboot system and start over fresh...
but that's how I do things...

Peace!

Thanks Dave000, did exactly that.
As soon as the install has completed extracting> Registering files: Stretch.ax, that is when the error occurs.
I have also disabled most boot programs (adobe cloud, etc.)

You may need to download and update the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable

The inability to register a DLL or OCX file is typically due to permissions, or possibly because the file is in use or can't be located.   Someone reported the same error message installing SONAR X1 on the Microsoft forums: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/i-receive-the-error-message-unable-to-register-the/4592e32c-d89e-47c6-a6d4-14fed792f68f

I don't know that this will help your case, but it does point to the same core reasons.

Thanks Stevec, I'll look into it. support ticket is also in the works.
I'm the Admin, so if it's a permission thing I'm not sure what changed. (what should I look for?)
