Is there any way to lock the audio track faders in Platinum?  I'm sure I'm missing something simple.

Thanks,

I don't know a way. But this would be cool.

Can you give an example of what you are trying to accomplish?
Maybe there is a workaround or a different approach to get what you are trying to achieve.

Not that I know of but you can right click a fader and set value->set snap to = current. When you double click on that fader it will set to that value instead of zero.

Great idea!
With a lock we wouldn't be able to accidentally change the mix while scrolling with the mouse wheel in console view.
Put in a feature request!

I might be taking the wrong approach, but when I'm done with a final mix, all my faders are at 0. Looks neater  and I don't have to worry about a fader that's accidently been moved since it sticks out like a sour note.  Also iZotope Insight gives me the exact representation of the output levels post fader since there's not attenuation of the tracks signal level. Yes I do sometimes have automated volume lanes, but at least they start out at zero.

Get the volume where you want; add a volume envelope. If you ever accidently move the fader, it will snap back to what the envelope is set to.

Y'know - I've used the freeze function and clip-clocking to help minimize my own user errors. But even that hasn't always worked. I've spend many hours (cumulatively) going back to fix errant fader moves like this.

As much as I hate to admit it - I would love a tool like this that could protect me from myself. I'd just want it to lock EVERYTHING....   faders, pan, trim, send/return, master, bus, EQ, clip-position/data, all of it. No more accidental remixes!

Most of this happens when I tweaking the pro channel strip on the side (after forgetting to select a new track). So I end up screwing up my vocal, when I think I'm working on a hi-hat. I've always blamed myself for being absent-minded, but I think I'm going to start blaming Cake/Sonar from now on. lol.

Good call.  It drives me nuts when I try to move a fader, forgetting that i've got an envelope on it.
