The shoemaker elves didn't get to my PC. No magical solutions or PCs that fix themselves here.

Still very repeatably generating "SONARPLT.eve has stopped working." when opening a project with the CA2A in it after a PC restart.

Haven't tried yet Tom. My only remaining Win 7 machine is actually my DAW, and I'm a bit loathe to mess with that at the moment. It's very tempting because some of the new features in 2016.11 I could really use.

Maybe on Saturday........

My gut tells me it's something where SONAR's relationship to Windows is right on the edge of...something. Sometimes it doesn't fall off, sometimes it does.

You could be right. I just checked my system and it has 23 versions of the MS C++ libraries. I had it down to 9 at one point. The 2012 library has 7 different versions. They all have different sizes and the difference in the rev number is often in the 3rd or 4th decimal point.
It's no wonder systems crash and burn when trying to run a recording studio on one. The interaction of all of Sonar's stuff internally combined with 3rd party interactions would generate a huge number of potential outcomes. Then drop in something that wasn't well written, or follows different rules......
I kind of hope they consolidate all the recent updates and do some tuning. I'm real far back in the learning curve.

When I first fire up Sonar and start a project, I'm getting the "SONARPLT.exe has stopped working," message. Strangely enough, after closing and restart Sonar, the project loads without any issues...well apart from the adjusted and saved meters not sticking.

As the day progress, there may or may not be any other 'stopped working' issues.

I had to roll back. I really like the new features but there is something with this update that causes strange behavior like random slowness, Massive interface stops responding, video window acts up etc. Can't be sure all of these are because of the new update but rolling back seemed to help.

Pretty weird, im having no trouble now.......but as craig suggested.....could have something to do with windows......i do have windows 10, and ive switched off updates........and but however...im still a sonar virgin, so im probably not using the full power of sonar anyway!!!
