Thanks for the help — Dave's right, unfortunately for me. The data just doesn't exist anymore. And unfortunately, the other engineer I got this project from didn't back it up at the earlier stage, so I guess I'm either stuck with his effects and will imagine the mix his way or I'll be trying to line up waveforms!

Wow. jb. You've saved me tons of time, that's fantastic. It was as dumb as that. Yes, they were frozen. Again, not being familiar with SONAR, it didn't even occur to me that the clips on frozen tracks would show themselves as referencing mix audio files rather than recording audio files. That's it. Brilliant.

Why on earth would you feel dumb?  Don't be daft.  If you didn't know about freeze, then why would you possibly think about it?

You gave us all the relevant information.  I just tried to look at the issue as if I wasn't familiar with how Sonar works..
