Looking at NAMM this year, the only thing that caught my eye was this announcement from SOFTTUBE.  I know a lot of us SPLAT users also are UAD users.  Apparently, CONSOLE 1 mkII is pre programmed for SONAR control and allows the use of certain UAD plugins.

This all sounds good to me but does anyone know how this tool can be beneficial to us SONAR/UAD users?  What does the software layer of CONSOLE 1 do?  Does it replace the CONSOLE for UAD Apollos? Does it replace the CONSOLE view of SONAR or is this just another interface screen that would sit between or with UAD and SPLAT?

Kind of interested to know if anyone knows more about this since it sounds like something I could use or not?

Thanks in advance.

Hi. I have the Console MKI, and have gotten mail from Softube that states that a software update coming in march, will allow me to control UAD plugins from my unit. My C1 is directly incorporated with SONAR, and will reflect tracks names as well as volume and pan. The integration has already happened You can decide to work with or without the HUI.
I think of the C1 as a control surface for the included SSL channel (I like it a lot), in addition to being a CS for SONAR. It does not replace any console view, it is it's own  console view.
It has enhanced my workflow, and I have gotten used to using it in tandem with my FW1884
I love it
Hope it helps.
All the best.

Console One MK anything is awesome.   I use all the time and can't wait for the UAD integration.   The stock C1 with the SSL is great as is and the hands-on approach really makes a difference.  Also the SSL emulations sound great and you also get some transient shaping and saturation capabilities too which have their own hands on controls.   ITs a wonderful unit!

Just check to make sure your OS is compatible with iLok, which is the licensing protection vendor that SofTube uses. They may not be compatible with the Win 8.1 OS you are using. But then again it may work just fine. I am on Windows 7 and could not get any support from either iLok or SofTube because of my Win 7 stubbornness.

I have 8.1 and ilok works fine.   Don't use a dongle, just the license mgr software
