  • PC shuts down instead of sleeping after Win 10 upgrade

Hi-

The subject is a little misleading, since my PC does in fact go into Sleep mode when I tell it to, but at some point while I myself am sleeping, it shuts down. I don't have any Power Management settings that tell it to shut down. I typically don't turn off my PC and this never happened before I upgraded to Win 10. There's nothing in the Event Viewer to indicate there was a problem, but oftentimes now just trying to wake the PC up with a keystroke doesn't work and I have to use the Power button.

Wondering why & thanks-

Hi-

It turns out there was an Advanced Power Management setting to turn "Hibernate" mode on after 180 minutes. I'd never set it, but I guess when I did the Win 10 upgrade that was turned on.

Just in case anyone else encounters this...
