Ok, so I am excited but new to Cakewalk/Sonar and have a problem.
I'm running Sonar X3 Studio and just connected a new interface (Tascam us-1200).  I have no idea what the driver mode is supposed to be set at in the preferences and cannot achieve playback throught the speakers.
Here's what I did:
I installed the driver
I got playback through the speakers but the track input only recognized the first 2 input channels of the interface (its a 6 channel interface).
I changed the interface mode from MME to ASIO and then nothing worked.
I reinstalled the driver.
Now, with the interface mode in ASIO, I can select all 6 input channels and the sound registers on the track, but I get no sound out of my speakers.

What did I do?  Cakewalk does not have any support for my product (they won't help you unless you buy the Producer version)
Please Help!

thank you

If the sound in the meters is live input (e.g. from a microphone) with the track armed for recording, you'll need to enable Input Echo - looks like ))) - on the audio track to echo input to output. Watch out for feedback if you're not monitoring with headphones.

All the set up information for any interface is the same and is very well documented , Help files, User manual, and knowledge base. Cakewalk doesn't have time to answer questions that are already answered.

You need to take a deep breath and start reading. Sonar is like all DAW's and it is not plug and play. You need to understand the basics.
Not to go into details but generally to get things working

Install Sonar
Install the latest drivers for your interface from the manufactures web site that match your system following instructions carefully.
Check that the drivers are working by looking in the appropriate Windows location for audio devices.
Make the Tascam the default and test it by playing a song from Media player.
Now open Sonar and go to Preferences Audio and make sure the Tascam is the Timing master and select ASIO mode.
Make sure the Tascam is selected as the input and output device.

You will want to not use input echo when overdubbing audio as the Tascam has high round trip latency and you will hear a delay. Use the Tascam's direct monitoring when overdubbing audio.

You welcome, let us know how you make out and welcome to Sonar. You'll get it working soon and it will all be good stuff.

Btw, minor nitpick, whether or not you get support isn't based on whether or not you have "Producer" but on whether you have a Sonar membership and thus the most current Sonar version. X3 is three years old now I think. That said, it's still a good package and I'm sure the forum can help you out!
