Which version? I'm not seeing this in 17.01 Early Access release.
- When I bounce to clip(a) a single audio clip, it retains its name.
- When I bounce to clip(s) several audio clips together, the new clip gets the track name.
- When I bounce to clip a MIDI clip, it loses its name.
Are you talking about Bounce to tracks(s)? In that case it depends what the 'Source Category' is, but it still won't be what you've described with any of the choices...?
In any case, I don't think there's any user control over auto-naming of clips.
