Hello Cakewalkonians,

I've done a search but could not find an answer to this question.
I've started to use the Sonar Pro Channel console emulation. Is anyone using also using tape emulation at the same time?
If so, on all tracks or just the master bus?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Ray

I use the console emulation (essentially) on all tracks though not necessarily the same console for each track.

I use the tape emulator for more specific uses... Such as for guitar/bass where I sometimes like the flavor...

I will echo Keni console emulation on all tracks.  I reserve the tape emulator for my buses - although there are not hard and fast rules...

I use the tape emulator more like the tube module, to add some grit

I use the console emulator on all tracks and busses with both knobs set to  2.0. I use the tape emulator on the drum buss.

Thank you for your responses.

It may be just a matter of how much "warmth" one wants in a particular recording/ genre?

I use both the console emulator and the tape emulator on all tracks most of the time.  I do, however, adjust all the emulators specifically for each track.

The emulations are designed to work of the sum of the the mix rather than on a single channel or bus.

Select an emulation and set every channel to that as if you were mixing on that analog desk.

I'll pile on...   I tend to use the Console Emulator on all tracks and buses, but the Tape Sim only on tracks that aren't intended to be clean/pristine.  The way I look at it, I get to pick and choose which tracks/instruments get that tape saturation effect and which do not, based on context and contrast.
