I am considering to purchase Sonar Platinum but doubt by the problems placed here.
Work with x 2 and nowhere have problems using windows 7 ultimate.
Would be wise to switch?

I am really happy with Platinum and would not want to go back to X2.

As someone who skipped on X2, but a recent switcher from X3 I would say..........

The jury is still out.

I only went for it because of the ability to have a dark colour scheme, which I lamented the loss of since 8.5 and the lifetime updates offer, but my experience so far is that it is a bit of a crashfest when compared to X3.

Good day all,
Just wanted to interject. Try to remember that win7 is going away.......probably sooner  than we all think. I made the jump to both Win10 anniv. and Sonar Platinum. Talk about some learning curves. Got through that to run into Sonar/Microsoft confab about some timing issuue...blah..blah...blah. I had SPro, trying to determine if the jump to Splat was worth it. I had most of the things in Splat except for two items. Now, a little more that Splat has added. But for a long time user of cakewalk, when the lifetime offer came, that even took some thought. I determined since I had been a long time user, I was going to be a longer timer user, and now I am locked in for the future. I, gratefully, have not seen the Major problems that a lot of people have. Some were inherent to the software problems, that I did see. But, I kinda use the software as kind of an old time recording deck. I don't have to tear apart a lot of the songs to run into some of the problems stated. Bottom line,...if you 'like' X2, then by all means upgrade. If you are not 'sure' if you like X2, sit tight and ride it out a little longer.
Hope this helps.

Try the free Platinum demo.  That should give you a better idea of compatibility on your system.

People have a tendency to complain when they have problems, not when things are going well.
SPlat is super solid and faster for me.

I think the last X3e was slightly more stable for me than the latest Platinum but overall it's been pretty good and compared to X2 it's miles ahead in features (for me).
