@rlared,

X2 works great and I don't have any problems with it.
I was thinking in more options in Slp but I have enough on X2.

@FCCfirstclass,
Thanks also for your reply.

I've been using Sonar since 8.5 Producer, each version had a little or more problems with each new upgrade, along with more powerful computer processing, in the end Cakewalk has done a great job to resolve issues. I recently had problems with Platinum and Windows 10 pro (Anniversary upgrade) but I just reconfigured and now Sonar is working great! Between 6-8hrs each day and no Crashes. Even my CPU usage has come down a lot, and I've have a number of premium plugins. Definitely having lifetime upgrades, Win10 is the way to go as eventually software will move forward, (although many people are staying put with previous version to the end).
Compatibility might be a reason to change, something to think about.

I still working with Win 7 ultimate 64 sp1, why?
My M audio Delta 1010 latest drivers are for Win 7 and there are no higer drivers for W 8.1 or W 10.
The 1010 works great with 8 inputs /8 outputs / midi in / midi out wich I cane edit with X2.

When I change to Win 10 then I'll have to buy also other hardware and I am not a miljonair, hahahaha.
My Sonar PC is only for Sonar and nothing else, so as long Win 7 works great and well, I think its better to stay working with W7.
I don't use Win7 (Sonar) for internet or some other programs, when there are updates I plug in the internet cable and after the download the cable will be removed.
For other PC works I  use my laptop, as also for this forum.

I'm running Platinum on my Daw under win 7 without any issues at all.

The quick answer to your original question is and unreserved YES.
X2 was as buggy as hell and only ever received 2 updates in it's lifetime

I would absolutely jump from x2 to platinum. I waited a long time to move from x3 to platinum because x3 was and still is stellar/solid performer.

It is clear to me.
So I'm going over to Spl.

If possible I'd recommend updating to Windows 10 as soon as you can. It's a much better operating system than 7 for music, like multi-client MIDI support and low latency with the Core Audio WASAPI drivers on laptops. There have been several other improvements to the audio stack.

Regarding the 1010, I did see this post in M-Audio's community:

"The latest 7 driver works on my win 10 64bit. I use compatibility mode from panel shortcut. Works perfectly using two cards actually."

Your main issue will be with the V-Studio 100 although there are instructions in the forum on how to get Roland V-Studio products to work with Windows 10. I tried it with the V-Studio 700 and everything worked fine.

I'm using Platinum with Windows 10 and it's super-stable. I go for hours and hours at a time with no hiccups. Also don't know if this is related, but Vegas is more stable under Windows 10 as well, and it's the same version I used with Windows 7.

I think Platinum has no peer in the Sonar family. When one considers the development that Platinum has gone through since it was released back in 2015 its been a remarkable ride. A ride that has had a very few ups and downs but one that keeps me wanting more. What I mean is I can say that twice I ran into some issues that were fixed quickly. keep in mind that each month CW has not only fixed bugs but has upgraded Platinum with remarkable new features. Features that are very creative and add real value to the platform. When I took the lifetime route it was a no brainer. But even without it its still a great value. I would upgrade each year anyway.

I find Sonar Platinum rock solid reliable and fun to use. I don't worry if something will go wrong or that a plugin will crash Sonar. It just works. Yes I hear lots of users complaining but I wonder what they are doing and what state their system is in. I've noticed a lot of non standard use of Sonar in the recent months yet most have been resolved.

I would recommend it fully without the slightest hesitation.

I have been a regular member of this forum since 2004. I stayed with 8.5 because of the negitave posts that dominated this forum. I have a copy of X1 LE so I also got to try the new look of Sonar back then and hated it.
I waited it out until X3 and when this forum and Cakewalk company changed to what it is now under Gibson.
We now have happy campers and mostly positive threads since those dark X1 and X2 day's.

To bad you missed the lifetime update. That may or may never come back. I think they should offer it directly to people registered with X1-2 and 3 via e mail for a short period. Let see the end of X1 and X2 for good.

And just so you know, you also missed the free upgrade to W10, but it is still possible via this program..I wouldn't wait too long as they may cut it off soon if they find to many cheaters. But I did it without a hitch. W10 is what we all should all be using now unless your Laptop or audio interface is unsupported.
