  • New LP EQ and (old) LP -64 EQ supposed to co-exist?

My old 64 EQ and multi band work just fine.  Installed the new ones via CCC and open them up, and the meters are already pegged.  No new presets found either and the LP-64 presets don't work in the new versions.

Anyrate... Inserting on the master buss, looking at the GUI, initially no bands set up.... click on the graph to insert a band (either in EQ or MB)...and of course the sound that the meters are showing, come blasting out of the speakers.   Like a 1000Hz sinewave tone...at FULL volume.

The new interface is nice (and bigger), but anyone else experiencing these issues?

Yes they can coexist - different DLLs. I'm seeing the 'no presets' issue, but not the issue that no sound is passed until a band is added or that a high-level sine signal is generated that isn't being passed into it from a track.

This was the the transport stopped?

yes...feedback noise with transport stopped.  I have BOTH dll files now too.  No presets for the new one, at least that I can find.   But that's OK.
Just when "creating" a band (the first one)... it allows the output of the plug to sound....which is the feedback.

btw... with NO bands created, just playing thru the plug... sounds like a ring modulator.  Pretty freaky

The presets are there...can't remember where but click around and you will find them.

When I read: "These will replace the previous versions and will continue to load in older projects that used the original versions."

I interpreted it to mean that the new files might have different .dll file names but that the *unique* embeded VST identifier code would be the same as the old efx, which could make coexisting not so easy. I interpreted this to mean the new VSTs were meant to replace the old. If that is the case problems may occur if one keeps both .dlls install and sharing the same ID code.

this message will probably self destruct

I saw that too...but my LP-64 dll are still in my VST folder

The previous versions are the LP plug-ins added to Platinum in 2016.07 not the original LP series introduced years ago.

WRT the OP problem, is the 64bit Double Precision engine enabled? If so, does the problem persist when it is disabled?

btw...I also let Cakewalk decide where to put my dll, ect.    Always been ok.   The LP EQ and the LP 64EQ are in different folders now.  Found the presets...scanning my computer.....but I can pull them up in the GUI

I guess it means the plug-ins have a problem with the 64bit DPE. They should work fine wither way but I turned the option off years ago and only enable it when exporting.

You might want to create a problem report http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Contact/Problem-Report
