Good call on the 64-bit DPE, Steve. This is usually the first thing I think of when plugins behave very badly like that, but I forgot this time. I usually have it off as well, precisely to avoid issues like this, which have come up with some regularity over the years.

That said...  I just enabled 64-bit DPE (with outboard mixer turned down), and am not seeing a problem.

You might want to create a problem report http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Contact/Problem-Report

thanks again Scook.. I submitted one for both the EQ and MB as they are reacting the same.

I believe these versions replace the originals. Comparing before and after inventories, I still have the same VST3 files, just with higher version numbers (1.0.2.3 -> 1.0.3.84).

However, after the update I also have two new files, which appear to be the VST2 versions, with .DLL extensions rather than .VST3.

Note that VST2 and VST3 siblings will have different IDs, and will therefore not be considered equivalent by SONAR. I believe they can even be mixed and matched within the same project.

I am not experiencing any problems with either of them.

thx BIt....
I CAN use the FX now with 64 bit dpe UN checked....
ALSO I can then check the 64 bit dpe AFTER the plug is inserted into the FX bin and it will work too.  Just can't insert with the dpe checked and have good results.

You are welcome. Glad there is a simple workaround. May want to put the CWBRNs in this thread and/or create another thread in Problem Reports. I will move this thread to Problem Reports if you want. To move it, the title should reflect the problem and the CWBRNs. Your call.

I have other plugs that have both... that I hope to remove someday (the VST2... stuff like Boz's stuff and some others.  The VST3 didn't work on them, and why I kept the VST2, so I could use the plug.   I'll see if those work with the 64 bit dpe unchecked now.
Sonar's literature doesn't really explain much about the 64 bit dpe, but it sounded good to have it checked, so I did and my computer wasn't wimpering, so it seemed.

you can move or do what you think best.  The work around is too easy.   thx again...  your replies are always helpful
I don't know what a CWBRNs is.

I'll leave it here for now. The CWBRNs are the numbers assigned to problem reports. You should have them in email replies from the problem reporter.
