i spoke to soon, i can't get this to work. my questions are as follows.
1. what part of the select tool do i highlight, SMART/SELECT/MOVE/EDIT/ERASE?
2. when i lasso the part i want to move the entire snare articulation moves.
3. when do i hold down the shift key?

Select tool. Lasso the notes with the mouse only, THEN hold Shift and drag them with the mouse.

- Start by left-clicking an empty area of the PRV with the Smart Tool to de-select everything.
- Right-click and drag across the notes with the Smart Tool to lasso.
- the lassoed notes should become highlighted (darker) than earlier/later notes on the same note number.
- Only those highlighted notes should move when you left-click and drag one of the selected notes with the Smart Tool.
- Holding Shift constrains the movement to whichever axis you move first whether vertical or horizontal.
