One of the most useful things in Vegas are the temporary, vertical "snap to" lines when you butt splice clips.  In video, esp., it is nice to see what you are doing.

This should be great (and how about a true Scratch Pad?? )

For anyone who doesn't fully understand the function and value of Ripple Editing, here is an excellent 10 minute tutorial video done by Kenny Gioia for another DAW:  http://www.cockos.com/reaper/videos.php#NsSb1otziI0

Just a note:  Ripple editing would be a great thing if it ripples everything (tempo, automation, meters etc.)  Otherwise I can pretty much do everything else already with what SONAR has.

Yeah, that'll be interesting to see. Since video projects aren't typically locked to a tempo, an editor has free reign to cut clips by a few frames and have everything else slide into place. But if you're in SONAR working on a project that's 4/4, 120bpm, what happens if you use the ripple edit feature on the last beat of a measure? When everything past that point (previously the downbeat of the next measure) slips into place, does the affected measure now become a 3/4 measure so the downbeat stays as is? Or does the downbeat now become the fourth beat of the affected measure?

I'd assume that options will be made available to customize the process (much like inserting a tempo, etc.) but it'll be interesting to see how this pans out. Really looking forward to this capability.

The video was very informative. Thanks!
My question is, are the little bits that cross the bar lines retained in the clip or are they cut?
Arrangement editing: for instance, in section A you have MIDI notes that cross over the bar line to
Section B. You delete Section B, and C & D slide over to fill up the hole made by B.

Are those MIDI notes in A which drifted into B now truncated (split)?
