Discord means disagreement. So "jump into discord" would mean jump in to disagree.

I just noticed on the Tascam site that there were two separate listings under the drivers section, so I was just making sure you had both installed.

ahhhhh got you lol. I meant the program discord, its like teamspeak/ventrilo but better.

the driver+settings panel includes everything (AFAIK). Still wondering if the ASIO has been left out and is somewhere else.

delete aud.ini and restart SONAR ...

CTRL+SHIFT while starting LE rewrites aud.ini in the user directory but deleting it would not hurt anything.

I have the Tascam 4x4, which is the same unit with two extra inputs.  Make sure you install the file labeled:

"US-2x2 & US-4x4 Driver & Settings Panel version 2.01 for Windows - 17.29 MB"

That file includes everything you need, including ASIO.  Once that is installed properly, you should see it show up in Sonar.

OK so, update. I unplugged everything. reinstalled drivers and software, plugged tascam unit into a different usb port and it appeared in devices in sonar! I selected it in input and output and then set it in the playback and record timing master. When I hit OK this popped up an error and I am now back to square 1.
The device list is blank again.

For what it's worth it sounds like the problem is on Tascam's end and not SONAR.

I think I would try this process one more time and cross my fingers:
1. Unplug your tascam unit from your computer
2. Uninstall the tascam software
3. Reboot
4. Reinstall tascam software.  Plug back in USB.
5. Reboot

Good luck to you.  Hang tough with this forum and these guys will work hard to get you sorted out.
Also, you might post this same problem over in the hardware sections.  There are guys that hang out over there that may be able to offer you help too.

All the best.

OK its back in the devices again.

but if I change the playback timing master I know it will just mess it all up again.

Why exactly would one change that?
In 13 years of having a Sonar-based DAW, i've never touched the timing master setting...

Because I dont know how to set this up and I'm only following what I have been told to do. If you can help me with a helpful suggestion of what to try it would be great. 13 years experience is a lot, you must be able to solve my issue.

Is there anything to select in the Playback Timing Master?
