Ok I need help on decideing on Mac laptop are pc desktop. I found to i like

mac laptop

The major qustion i have is will i get same results with pc desktop as mac?
lot people say get mac cause for music production but people dat say dat is employs at sweetwater & stuff so there probley trying get money out of me.

The general rule is to choose your software first, then purchase the appropriate hardware. So if you pick Sonar or Logic, your decision is already made.

BTW - The old argument that Macs are better for music or graphics doesn't really hold up any more (though Macs might be more prevalent in some areas). It's more about the applications and your personal preferences.

Yea i chose sonar 8 studio

So i can go ahead get the pc? i mean got more hardrive & ram also comes with whole set..
so wait it just the graphics i thought it was the performance? LOL

marcus3, if you're going to go with a desktop, i wouldn't recommend that desktop from Walmart. It looks like a slim line design desktop which doesn't give you much options to upgrade. It may not even have ilink, 1394 firewire. In case if you decide to use an interface that uses firewall. firewire! Check out these models instead... Asus Essentio CM5570-AP006 Desktop with 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor and also HP Pavilion p6130y Desktop with 21.5" Widescreen LCD Monitor from BestBuy.

& do i need buy firewire cause yes im buying a motu 8pre interface

Vista is compatible with Sonar. You will like using Vista. In fact if you get any system now, you will be able to get Windows 7 upgrade for free. I looked at the Asus system specs and it doesn't include firewire. Your motu 8pre interface will require a firewire port. That HP system is the one to beat with the nice monitor and does have firewire. you will then only need a firewire cable. A 6 to 4 pin firewire cable, but wait until you get your gear to be sure.

Appreite it The good part out all this is i aint got spend over 1000 dollars for computer LOL

Try logging out and logging in again in the CCC. Then update in CCC settings.
