Hi ewsg, Yes you can. I use MC5 and a Yamaha midi keyboard (and no musical training). I was wondering about upgrading and have followed the discussions and advice given to others here recently. The deciding comment for me was that MC6 only enabled 2 plugins while X1 and above enabled far more. If you are unlikely to need/use multiple attachments its probably not worth the additional cost. If you have a few bob to spend consider saving some by buying MC6 and use the savings elsewhere i.e. keyboard or external sound card. As Herb pointed out he, and others here, have produced professional quality tracks using earlier cakewalk products.
