Does Cakewalk have any applications or anything built in that calibrate different headphones? I am mostly using AKG.

Cheers

Cakewalk does not have any type of headphone calibration built in.
There is a popular 3rd party program that does this: Sonarworks.

Hi Martin,
Have you used this? (your thoughts on it?)

Not really. It was included in the TB All Pack which is no longer available. But I know someone who uses it all the time when he is on the road.
You can demo all the ToneBoosters plug-ins with the only restriction that the changes won’t be saved in the project and they come as simple dll files.

I have tried the sonarworks headphone calibration software and it has helped me a lot. My mixes now sound a lot better when played outside my mixing setup. So I ended up buying it.

But I still believe that it's better to use a decent pair of studio monitors if possible

AFAIK Isone has no presets for particular headphones, so the Sonarworks is several steps ahead regarding that.
At least I've found no info saying otherwise.

Sonarworks is awesome and they have free custom calibration going on at the moment... My KRK headphones are much more usable now...
